Story has it that once upon a time a Srivijayan Prince called Sang Nila Utama set upon a sea voyage to find a land for his new kingdom. He took his journey into the surrounding water and during his mission the Prince spotted and smitten by a sight of an island with beautiful beach and glittering white sand. When he landed on the island, he encountered a strange animal which was thought to be a lion. The lion had never been found again but the Prince took it as a good omen that he had found what he was looking for thus Singapura or Lion City was founded. This design captures the historical moment when the Prince encountered the lion amidst the dense jungle that Singapore was once was made of.
